My Competencies

Business: I believe that my accounting background gave me a fundamental understanding of how businesses operates. It gave me the skills to dissect a business’ plan and strategy through understanding their accounting system and tax structure. I want to take my knowledge of accounting and apply it a step further to strategy. Accounting is the underlying foundation of business whether if it’s through tax or audit and has been essential in my business education.

Consulting: I have always been curious about a lot of things. Some of my favorite topics range from philosophy, technology, culture, history, politics, financial markets, psychology, and onto a whole host of different things. I am an intellectually curious individual and that is why I found myself drawn to consulting after I found out I didn’t want to do tax compliance. Being a consultant means always learning new things. As a consultant for IBC, I found myself learning about new biotechnologies. As a project manager and director for PCT internal consulting group, I found myself constantly researching and expanding my knowledge pool to come up with a better solution.

Technology: I am an optimist by nature and I love to dream big. The reason why I’m passionate about technology is because I believe that a lot of the problems that we face in the 21st century can be solved by technology. So this spring, I decided started my journey to understand more about computer science and technology by starting learning front-end web development. I built this personal website portfolio last fall from scratch utilizing the skills I learned from Udemy's Full Stack Web Developer Bootcamp as well as other online resources as my own capstone project. The whole pursuit expanded my intellectual horizons and caused me to embrace technology and use it to find new ways to improve our quality of life. My next step in my journey is understanding machine learning and how it can transform the way data is being processed. In addition to my front-end web development, I have a data analytic concentration with my Master of Accounting degree that tackles data visualization and machine learning through Python. University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Bachelor of Science in Accounting - December 2016

My 3 years at U of I gave me a wealth of opportunity and an endless list of mentors who inspired me to challenge, push, and develop my own worldview. Aside from my major in accounting which gave me a good foundation of business, a majority of my college career was defined by getting involved within the collegiate community.

My involvement with the Phi Chi Theta (PCT) Business Fraternity early on encouraged me to get involved in project consulting as a consultant in IBC. Then I had an opportunity to led and manage the PCT’s internal consulting group as their director. My junior fall semester abroad at London’s Cass Business School gave me a different perspective on my place in this global economy. My ethics and early modern philosophy classes challenged my previous understanding of knowledge. My engagement as a B101 section leader deepened my understanding of professional responsibility ethics and allowed me to give back as a mentor to newcomers in the College of Business.

U of I gave me the strong foundation to pursue my passion, expand my intellectual curiosity, and a group of exceptional peers who constantly inspire me during my undergraduate career.

Master of Science in Accounting - May 2018

Study Aboard - Fall 2015

The most memorable things about my London study aboard experience were the friends I met, the culture, and most importantly, its performing arts. I took a course called Performing Arts in London that invoked a love of theatre in me that I never knew existed. I made it my mission to see a different performance every 1-2 weeks. My favorite ones are "The Play That Went Wrong", "Bend it Like Beckham", and "The Barber of Seville". The theatre gave me a great appreciation of London's rich culture and history through its rich and creative storytelling.

While I was there, I also took courses in International Financial Management, Fixed Portfolio income, Introduction to Management, and Historic London.
